It seems if there was a problem with the settings, then the errors But I get this error at least 30 times per day. In fact, Outlook does correctly recieve mail using the existing passwords and settings. I repeatedly get the error "mail cannot be received at this time, would you like to re-enter your password?" despite passwords being correct.

I am using Outlook Mac 2011 v14.3.9 (latest version, no updates available).
